Aamir Hussain
Aamir Hussain is a native of Farmington, CT. Aamir's father is from Hyderabad, India, and his mother (while being of Indian origin) is from Kowloon, Hong Kong. Because of the intersection of American, Indian, Chinese, and Muslim cultures in his family, he is very interested in foreign languages, exotic foods, and traveling to different countries. He is nicknamed “The-Punisher” for his penchant for making (bad) puns.
Aamir is a practicing Muslim of Indian background, and speaks Spanish and Hindi-Urdu. His interfaith work began in high school, when he lobbied the school administration to allow Farmington High School’s first Multicultural Celebration in 2010. He is part of the Georgetown University undergraduate class of 2014, pursuing a pre-medical concentration with a major in Government, and perhaps a Theology minor. He hopes to incorporate these interests into a future career in medicine, while continuing his passion for interfaith work by volunteering in communities with limited access to healthcare. At Georgetown, he spends his time outside of class working as an EMT-B on the Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Service, as the Muslim Students Association representative on the Georgetown Interfaith Council, and as a staff member in Model United Nations.
