The Issues
Students are volunteering with the Genesis Shelter located in Richmond, IN. and raising awareness about the issue through their campus advocacy, fundraise, and a clothing drive for the shelter.
Students are working on a three-pronged approach: educating campus about the realities of poverty, reaching out to local Haitian communities in Chicagoland through direct service, and fundraising for a specific education project in Mirebilais, Haiti.
Students are raising funds for the Energy for Education Project to furnish the school with desks for the students.
Students are working to start a Dorm Sustainability Campaign. A contest that encourages other students to take steps to accomplish different calls to action, such as taking 10 mins showers to conserve wate, and installing recycling bins in their rooms.
