Josh is a senior at Amherst College majoring in history, economics and Spanish. After graduation, Josh is planning to attend rabbinical school at Hebrew Union College. Over the past three years, Josh has served as the co-president, vice president, and senior advisor to the Amherst Hillel. With help from his mentor, a reverend and the coordinator of religious life at Amherst, Josh founded and chaired the Amherst College Multi-faith Council. He also co-founded the “Ethical Will Project,” a program connecting students with seniors at the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in order to build relationships and record value statements the seniors would like to pass on to future generations. The program is set to expand this fall to 20 additional senior facilities. After contributing well over 1,000 hours of community service towards the Ethical Will Project, he was named a “Volunteer Hero” by the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. Josh just returned from a semester abroad in France, where he had the opportunity to work as an assistant to the director of the European Youth Campaign, which was sponsored by the Council of Europe and European Commission to combat racism, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia throughout the continent.
